Straddle Premium

Do not change the password, PIN, TOTP code of the broker account. If you do so, please update the same at the Cubes platform.

Some brokers allow to login through mobile OTM and if used they disable TOTP based login, in such brokers please login only using TOTP  method to avoid disturbing the seamless integration between Cubes and your broker account. If you change the TOTP code, kindly update it at the add broker section of Cubes.

Do NOT pause /deactivate Cubes after a small fluctuation in performance. It is only normal to experience some fluctuation. It is advised to subscribers that to be prepared for the drawdown indicated in each cube. Deactivating and activating the Cube promptly can have a severe impact on performance. It is highly advised to research about the Cube and then subscribe.

Avoid the following after subscribing to the Cube.

Validate button is user based functionality to check verify the positions in the broker account are in order with the positions as per the subscribed Cubes. In case of any discrepancy, i.e. excess position on either side (As per Cubes v/s broker), user can 'take action' by squaring off the positions from our platform itself.

It is important to keep the positions same both in broker and in cubes. Any discrepancies, should be resolved. If a user has a position from manual order in broker, they would be identified as discrepancy and user can choose not to square off them and track them separately.

Another tab in Validation is ‘Cubes’. This tab can be used to close selected open positions, in the Cubes record. This tab is usually used only before the closing subscription for that specific Cube.

What does Validate button do?

The user should be informed of the simultaneous processes the Cubes platform runs to keep the trading operations seamless:

1. API token generation: Every day at around 8 am, our platform initiate integration with users' broker account and generate token for seamless connection throughout the trade session. This given a notification to the user.

2. Broker Integration: In case of any error, either from Broker API or user credentials mismatch, the user is notified and is expected to rectify promptly.

3. Validation check: Throughout the trade session, the platform keeps a check on the positions and marks any discrepancy in the positions just to avoid scenarios in case of any unusual trigger/slippage. The user is notified in such case and is expected to clear the discrepancy promptly.


What are daily Live running tasks for Cubes?

When you subscribe to a Cube, based on your preferred theme and strategy, if the required margin is available in the connected broker account, the Cube will start operating.

It will compute the entry and exit signals at a defined interval. On each signal, the platform would securely route the order to your linked broker account to buy/sell the instrument of that specific cube. Please note, the selection of the instrument to trade is also done automatically by the Cube.

For every signal triggered in Cubes, a corresponding position is created in the broker account. Simultaneously Cube also records each transaction to keep a track of executed positions, so that the Cube does not send a duplicate order.

The user can view the Cube in the ‘Portfolio’ section.


How does a Cube operate?

After you have added the broker credentials, it requires a TOTP based login for the Cubes platform to access your broker account. This is done every day in the morning before trading session begins and positions are checked for any discrepancy continuously.

Please note, that if you are logging in to your demat account manually, you should login using the totp method only. If the user logs in to his broker account not using TOTP based authentication, the automated totp based authentication gets overwritten and eventually disabled.

It will require the user to generate a new TOTP key from the broker side and update the credentials in Cubes platform.

Secondly, the user is required to update the credentials in case of any changes. Eg, if the user has changed the broker account password, he is needed to update the same with Cubes platform.

The same applies to TOTP key change and any other credential change which is usually done on a time to time basis.


Once you have added your broker credentials with Inuvest. 

When you subscribe to a Cube, it will require the user to integrate his broker account through the Cubes platform. This integration is secured with end to end encryption.

Once integrated, each Cube mentions a minimum margin required to subscribe. Your broker account must have the amount of minimum margin available either as cash or margin available through a pledged portfolio.

The Cube will appear in ‘My Portfolio’ section along with the list of transactions under that Cube within the same section. Inuvest platform will enable automatic entering and exiting positions as per the Cubes’ strategy subscribed.


When you Subscribe to a Cube?

Cube is a strategy consisting of a set of algorithmic rules for buying and selling. These rules are proprietary analogies based on a combination of price volume action, statistical and machine learning logic.

A cube, when executed, performs the repeated tasks like entering and exiting position based on pre-defined rules of the Cube/ strategy.

All the Cubes are stress-tested for various scenarios keeping risk and return as performance parameters. Once qualified by our internal performance standards, the strategy is published as a Cube for users to subscribe.


What is a Cube?

The allure of options trading has been historically irresistible to many traders, both institutional and retail. The sale of options can generate immediate income, leveraging the time decay factor intrinsic to all options. In India, a growing number of market participants have embraced options as an integral part of their trading strategy. However, recent murmurs suggest that selling options may not be as rewarding as it once was. Let's delve into the reasons behind this sentiment:

: Over the past few years, algorithmic and high-frequency trading have become dominant in global markets, including India. Of late, there has been a rise in the number of retail investors who were historically buyers of options and are now writers of options.

: India's financial markets have witnessed periods of heightened volatility during COVID-19 and a few years following it. Option selling is highly rewarding during panic or times of uncertainty. Currently, the markets are at an all-time high and the India VIX is at an all-time low. India VIX is been consistently below 12 since June 23. During such times, option ppremiums being lowest which makes it difficult for sellers are there is little decay impact. A small move in the underlying could impact the seller's profit by a larger extent. 

: SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) has periodically introduced changes to margin requirements, making it more capital-intensive to sell options. Higher margin requirements mean traders have to commit more capital for the same positions, impacting returns on capital.

: As the Indian markets mature, there's a proliferation of sophisticated traders and institutions in the options segment. Increased competition invariably leads to reduced premiums and narrower spreads, diminishing the rewards for option sellers.

: With central banks globally maintaining low interest rates to boost economic recovery, the opportunity cost of committing capital to options selling is reduced. However, the reduced rate also impacts the risk-free rate component in option pricing models, leading to slightly lower option premiums.

: As the Indian market matures, information asymmetry decreases. The advent of information technology, financial literacy campaigns, and general market awareness means that retail and institutional traders are often on a more level playing field, leading to compressed premiums.

While the landscape for selling options in the Indian market is certainly evolving, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's no longer profitable. Instead, it suggests a need for option sellers to adapt and evolve their strategies. Here are a few considerations for modern-day option sellers:

: Always prioritize risk management over potential returns. Use stop losses, hedge where necessary, and be aware of the potential for black swan events.
